Going Beyond Obligations to Create Meaningful Impact

WLCT – Suraksha, young women’s hygiene and menstrual health program in remote villages of Haryana

White Lotus Charitable Trust (WLCT) was delighted to welcome the EXL team of volunteers to the SURAKSHA Project at Government Schools in Solda and Kushak, Palwal, Haryana.

As part of their community engagement efforts, the EXL volunteer team supported the SURAKSHA initiative by donating sanitary napkins to adolescent girls and engaging with students in meaningful conversations around menstrual health and hygiene.

The interaction provided an opportunity for the volunteers to connect with the girls, encourage open and informed discussions about menstruation, and reinforce the importance of menstrual hygiene and well-being. Such conversations play a vital role in building confidence, promoting dignity, and helping adolescent girls continue their education without interruption.

The warmth, smiles, and gratitude shared by the students made the visit truly memorable. The engagement was a meaningful reminder that when organisations, volunteers, and communities come together, even small acts of support can contribute to creating lasting and positive change in the lives of young girls.

Through the SURAKSHA Project, White Lotus Charitable Trust continues to work towards creating a supportive environment where adolescent girls can access essential menstrual hygiene resources, gain awareness, and grow with confidence and dignity.

We sincerely appreciate the EXL team of volunteers for their valuable contribution, compassion, and commitment towards creating meaningful community impact.

Together, we can empower girls, support their well-being, and help build a future where every girl can learn, grow, and thrive with dignity.
